Into the Equinox, directed by Rydell Danzie is a Folklore Horror/Thriller that is set in the outbacks and water ways of Alaska. Rydell was very direct about the feeling of the score having a tribal indigenous sound, yet at the same time, a traditional sound with some modern hip elements mixed in. As with most scores, it is a marriage of sound and visuals that make up the tone and feel of the scene. The score itself is a bit of a shift away from the typical MATURO sound, but as with film music, it can be another conduit to show case another style.
