New Jersey Prog Rock trio Mythology's debut album "Greatest Hits" is a wonderful introduction to an exciting world. Their eclecticism, daring Composition, adventurous improvisation, and goofy satire make them not only technically impressive, but also heart-warming and charming. This 2009 LP showed a very young trio of men full of piss and vinegar set out to dazzle people with a refreshing sound that harkens back to the heyday of 1970's Prog Rock. Influenced by Frank Zappa, Yes, King Crimson, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Return To Forever and many others, they certainly wear their influences on their sleeves. However, in spite of that, they manage to maintain their own original sound while culling inspiration from the grandfathers of Prog before them. Mythology formed in March of 2007 in the woods of West Milford, New Jersey. And from that moment on, the creativity has not ceased to flow! The original lineup consisted of Guitarist/Vocalist/Composer Brynen Sosa, Bassist Dane Carmichael, and Drummer Jason Turner. Who were 20, 18, and 17 years old respectively at the time of this 2009 recording. Such ambition for guys so young! So get ready, here comes Mythology!
