Distinct Grace formed in 2013, after two best friends combined their love of music and wanting to give back to the troops. As of April 2014, Distinct Grace incorporated as a 501(C)(3) Non-Profit Organization. They are a band centered around making music and donating time and money to Veterans Organizations like Still Serving Veterans, Desert Angels, and the Wounded Warrior Project. Chuck and Jeff met in 2005 during training when they were still both Active Duty U.S. Air Force. The two remained friends and over the years sang and played guitar together often. Distinct Grace came as an idea from Chuck and Jeff during their annual trip to see the Dropkick Murphy's. During this trip, Jeff and Chuck wrote the song "Giving you a Wake" and decided to form a group to produce their music and promote support for the U.S. Military. A big part of both of their lives, both as Veterans and as sons of Veterans. Chuck's father, Charles, served in the Army, his Uncle fought in Vietnam, and his Grandfather fought in WWII. Jeff's father, brother, uncles, aunts, grandmother, grandfathers, and cousins have served our nation in every service over the course of the past 65 years, fighting in every major war or conflict since WWII. Chuck and Jeff wanted a way to express their music and record it for others to enjoy, but also figure out a way to share that gift and raise money for Veteran's. One track on this album is Giving You a Wake. A song that was written describing a cross between rock, country, bluegrass and Celtic punk. The song, as you listen to the lyrics, describes the likes of a traditional blue collar man struggling to make ends meet, only to find out his beloved wife has been with another man. Their second major song is Green Green Glass and was written about the struggles of alcohol abuse seen by our men and women who come home with issues such as PTSD, homelessness, joblessness, and other issues. Their latest song has very much of a punk rock bluegrass feel. "Who Cares" was written as a tribute to military men who have been at war only to return and find their wife has cheated.
