Welcome to The Cut! The Cut is a Mid-West rap group like nothing you have heard before. The Cut features two artists Powda and LayLow coming from two different backgrounds. Powda is a Kentucky native that has traveled the states as a kid. Growing up on the road and living in such places like Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina he has a style all of his own. LayLow is also no stranger to the road living in places like Oklahoma, Hawaii, Tennessee and Texas. He has served his country as a tanker in the United States army. LayLow packs a smooth R&B style that brings women to their knees. After life on the road, seeing and experiencing the best and worst times across this country. They both managed to end up 25 miles away from each other in southern Indiana, only to find out it was destiny at work. They both had it rough, often having to do whatever necessary to survive and feed their kids. Even if it wasn't the best and most legal route they always saw the light at the end of the tunnel, they pushed on everyday and never gave up. It all came together through music in 2002 when they meet and formed a local rap group. At that time rappers were unheard of in Southern Indiana. There wasn’t much of a rap scene in their area so they did everything they could to get their name out; from endless mixtaps, winning freestyle battles, to putting on shows in downtown Louisville and across Indiana. After spending thousands of hours recording in homemade studios the song My Life caught the ear of the A&R director at Iceage Records. After a few meetings and a couple handshakes later their hard work paid off and they are now one step closer to their dream down the road to royalty.
