简介
‘Do You See Me Now’ is inspired by the story of Elizabeth O’Farrell; the woman who risked her life on the streets of Dublin to deliver the surrender in Ireland’s 1916 uprising. The original press photograph -- taken after O’Farrell returned with the leader of the rebels Padraig Pearse -- captures her partial image despite her having stepped behind Pearse, and out of clear view. Her image was airbrushed out of later reproductions of the photograph. The song imagines what Elizabeth might say to women and men happening upon her story for the first time… a century later.
