"The Only One" is Wesley Attew's latest single, telling a story of his experiences at The Only Backpackers hostel in Toronto, he recounts falling in love and finding a family in friendships we make miles from home. Attew is an English Indie Folk-rock/Singer-Songwriter now based in Vancouver, Canada. He draws his style from a wide range of influence – mainly composed of modern day Indie folk-rock and 60s & 70s folk music. He displays a refreshing honesty through his hard-hitting poetic lyricism and expressive melodies. Born and raised in the UK, Wesley has spent the past few years on the road. First picking up a guitar whilst traveling around Australia and Asia, it was not until he moved back to Dubai, where his family is based, that he began to hone his craft in the country’s emerging music scene. After relocating from the Middle East to Canada in 2015, he found time to record and release his debut EP “The Other Side” in Toronto working alongside producer Jeremy Clarke at Room 21 sound. The release of his debut helped him garner a whole new set of followers in this dynamic Canadian city. At the end of last year, Wesley was back in the studio with Clarke to record a follow-up. His new single titled “The Only One” was released June 23rd 2017, telling a story of his experiences at The Only Backpackers hostel in Toronto, he recounts falling in love and finding a family in friendships we make miles from home. After recording the song in a few short days before Christmas, Wesley packed up his guitar and hit the Trans-Canada Highway at the start of 2017. He has now settled on the west coast and looks to build on his Canadian following in Vancouver.
