简介
“Nocturnes”, the fifth release by Martians on Maui marks the return to the Gothic-Industrial roots of composer Pete Lamberty. While some tracks such as the opener, “Horsepower” and “Better Living Through Chemicals” were scored for multimedia, the overall feel of the album reflects the dark atmospheres of the band’s influences, including Sigur Ros, Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails. Harrowing tracks, such as “An Exorcism”, “Time Machine” and “Deface” would be right at home in a Sci-fi/Horror flick. Critics have compared the release along the lines of “To Live and Die in LA”, the landmark 1985 soundtrack by Wang Chung. Marq Elias of MTV.com calls Martians on Maui “what you would get if Thom Yorke and Trent Reznor paid tribute to Pink Floyd”. Pete Lamberty lives in Portland, OR.
