My relationship with music began before I can even remember. When I was a kid, there were a bunch of cassette tapes around the house. I found out that if you put a tiny piece of paper or tissue in the grooves on the top, you can record over any tape. So my brother and my cousin, we would record little jingles and commercials. Like literally record over a professionally recorded cassette tape and put our stuff on it. That was done out of pure creativity. That was my first concept of recording. A lot has taken place since then. When I was around 17 years old, something really significant happened to me. I was playing piano and I didn’t know it at the time but someone really close to me was contemplating suicide. They told me that they heard me playing and my music changed their mind. Like, your music literally saved my life. That’s when I realized how serious this gift is. How music can effect emotions. You can’t see it but you can feel it. It’s spiritual. As I matured musically I began gravitating towards TV/Film music. I noticed that I was often inspired by artwork, tv, games, movies, commercials, etc. I could look at an image or a video with no sound and write music that captured the emotion behind it. That’s where the idea for this EP derived. I recapped certain events in my life and wrote music to them.
