Young Brothers Trio The Young Brothers trio is a new innovative band which has been in the works for two years. The band, which roots it’s repertoire in the traditional jazz genre, prides itself in the young “Fresh” approach to jazz standards. With the infusion of original compositions, the trio has developed a following of both old and young alike. Collectively the band has performed in more than 30 countries as well as most major jazz venues throughout the United States. With their debut recording “Tales of Time”, the Young Brothers trio has successfully established a “sound” that appeals to the most critical of listeners. Tim Young - Piano Pianist/composer Tim Young is starting to make his mark in the jazz world. After completing his education at the University of North Texas, Tim returned back to the east coast to serve as pianist with the Army Jazz Ambassadors of Washington, D.C. Tim has held this position for the past seven years. Tim has performed extensively throughout the entire United States, and has performed in Japan, China, and Germany. Tim is a sought out player because of his ability to adapt to any musical situation. His style covers just about all. Tim has performed with Ray Anderson, Steve Swallow, Charles McPhearson, "Doc" Cheatham, Rebecca Parris, Joe LaBarbera, Lou Marini, Ben Vereen, Greg Gisbert, and Slide Hampton. Alphonso M. Young, Jr. - Drums Drummer/percussionist, Alphonso M. Young, Jr. has been a professional musician for more than 18 years. His versatile and imaginative style of performance has not only charmed audiences around the world (more than twenty countries), but has lead such noted artists as Randy Brecker, Bob Berg, George Colligan, Hal Galper, Giacomo Gates, Buck Hill, Etta Jones, Ira Sullivan, Othello Molineaux, Rebecca Parris, and Jon Secada to acquire his talent. He was also a percussionist for the 1992 European tour of the Broadway show “Sophisticated Ladies”, as well as a drummer for the highly-acclaimed vocalist Vanessa Rubin. The most recent addition to his musical repertoire is his stunning application of Latin “chops” to enhance his bopping jazz style. Alphonso, who is currently a music instructor with Loudoun County Public Schools and on the faculty of Shenandoah University, is the drummer with the Eric Byrd trio and the Robert Larson trio.
