简介
Abbey Road Studios, London. Helge Nyheim has just completed the finishing touches to his debut album, and cannot help but shed a little tear. If you love The Beatles it is something extraordinary to sit in the same studio which was once their very own for the greatest part of their career. Even more so when you are working on your own album. It did not begin here. It began in Vaksdal, Norway, over 30 years ago when a 12 year old Helge received his first drum kit. From that day on everything he has done has pointed towards the conclusion of this album. At 14 he played in his first band and has been a professional musician since he was 22 years old. Since then he has worked with a long line of known artist in various styles and a wide range of genres. Gerry Donahue ( Fairport Convention ), Doug Morter ( Magne Carta ), Mads Eriksen, Kenneth Siversen, Totto and the Lovemakers, as well as being a permanent member of The Steve Morgan Band for almost 20 years. He has also fronted The Dark Side of the Wall, the successful Pink Floyd tribute band which even had the personal approval of Mr Pink Flyod himself, Roger Waters. Helge has never denied that The Beatles were and still are his greatest influence and inspiration. Traces of the 60s and 70s can be heard on this album you hold in your hand , but the big picture is definetely from 2008. Mastered at Abbey Road. He has participated in a long line of recording projects as a studio musician at Havnelagret Studios in Bergen, Norway, where The Ride Back Home was recorded with the multi talented musicians and producers Daniel Birkeland and Calle Hamre, working as a team and nurturing this project for almost 4 years. The album you have is a result of a long process which was finalized in the world`s most famous studio one fine October day in 2008. Helge is very happy with the result he hopes you are too.
