Psycho is written from the perspective of the citizens of the United States who were duped into thinking that Donald Trump could single-handedly solve all of their problems. Every day, more Americans are experiencing political buyer’s remorse, realizing that this self-proclaimed anti-establishment figure is actually a direct mouthpiece for corporate greed and nationalist hate. But many of the people who voted for him are still in a battle against their past-selves, desperately trying to justify their decisions by blaming immigrants and minorities. I hope this song can help them shine a spotlight on the true source of their problems, and allow them to see that the one they once called Patriot is truly a psychopath.
