Born and raised in Chicago, IL. Melissa Clark began singing at the early age of five, performing for friends, family and in church. At the age of 15, Melissa started writing lyrics, recording music and performing at various venues. Melissa wanted to learn every aspect of the music industry and while pursuing her college studies, she received an internship at Sony Music Entertainment Inc., where she worked in promotions. Music became a struggle and she redirected her career and became a Chicago Public Schools Educator. She continued to pursue her passion for music by performing with bands around Chicago and singing background for aspiring artists like herself. In June 2014, Melissa released her first single titled "Gold" (Produced by singer/song writer - K'Jon - Detroit, MI). She wrote the song 8 years prior to it's release. She says, "The song reflects who I am and what I have always thought of myself. It's everything that defines me and allows me to teach through my music". Since she was a young girl, Melissa dreamed of becoming a singer and song writer. Melissa's musical dream might have taken longer than planned but she believes everything is all about timing. Doors of great opportunity are opening and Melissa is letting her voice be heard.
