简介
Three tracks each for my children inspired by their personalities. My wife loves the odd man out "Trio in D" so I've included it for her. Much of this Music was written at or considering placed my kids love to be. In a phrase "I love finger style acoustic guitar...properly processed!" Several tracks are written in my favorite Italian composers 'Koyunbaba' c# minor key. Dropped tunings adds a nice richness to a guitar's resonance and c# minor is one of my favorite. Counting down from three, I couldn't help but add in a riff for the ever useful Zero, a positional arithmetic hero. I spent my early years learning violin and my teens mastering the cello. As a result of these efforts, I received the same medal playing Saint-Saens Cello Concerto #1 at Solo and Ensemble competition that my track friend received winning the mile, albeit with less sweat and sunscreen. The guitar is my post-doc instrument of choice. This is expressed via modern Finger Style Guitar playing with multiple hands on multiple finger boards. I found myself so fascinated by Billy McLaughlin's style of two hands on the fingerboard, as well as Rhett Butler's dual guitar playing, that I wrote many a bar and spent many, many hours playing with their technique in mind. The style is also inspired by Michael Hedges, though I'm not sure anyone really compares with Michael. Many thanks to John Stropes or making these styles of play accessible via many, many transcriptions and a large tuning database.
