简介
Mike Rocket is unique in that he performs outside the box to gain recognition, receive radio play, and get invitations to large festivals. He is known to show up at places like the TODAY Show, Springsteen concerts, and festivals, setting up makeshift stages to perform to the masses. In 2013, He spoke to the legendary Clive Davis during Q&A at a lecture, directly handing Davis his music. Clive introduced Rocket to the audience. Shortly after another artist asked Mr. Davis what an artist needs to do to get a break. Then, Clive Davis responded, "As Mike Rocket points it out, 'hard work', 'tenacity', belief, and you just keep doing it." Over the past few months, Mike Rocket has been gaining momentum. Rocket just performed “April & Angela” on Radio 1045 Philadelphia. This past summer, he kicked off the WCBS-FM NY Summer Blastoff playing his Jersey shore anthem “Gotta Get To The Jersey Shore” to open for Bret Michaels. In June, he was added to the Firefly Music Festival with some of music’s biggest acts including Mumford & Sons, Florence and the Machine, Death Cab for Cutie, Fetty Wap, and more. This was right after an article was published on how he sets up and performs outside the festival each year. In addition, he played nearly 30 shows at the Hard Rock Café Atlantic City. Originally from Philadelphia, Rocket has been performing solo and with his band Mike Rocket and the Stars for over 10 years. He was the first official act of SXSW in 2012 and has done several shows at New York’s BB King Blues Club.
