Francis Soriano started off playing classical piano as a child. However, he was very much influenced by all types of music, including classical, country, dance pop, rock and heavy metal. He began taking Argentine tango dance lessons in 2010. He immediately fell in love with the music. Soon after he began a journey of learning and studying tango music on piano. He joined Los Angeles del Tango in 2011 as the keyboard player and started creating arrangements for the ensemble based off of the Golden Age recordings from the 1930s-1950. Having been a songwriter much of his life, he decided to start writing his own tangos of which the orchestra performed. On January 1, 2013, Francis bought a bandoneon, one of the hardest instruments to learn. However, he dedicated many hours learning on his own. At the latter half of 2013, he decided to start recording his tangos. And thus, Azul y Oro was born. It is a mix of all types of the music which has he has enjoyed dancing to, and hopefully exploring all the wonderful things about composition he has learned.
