Previously from the Christian Pop group "JDV" Alex Soler is a songwriter/producer who with this song (A New Life) makes his first attempt to a solo career. A New Life started off as a song to be written for a different artist but Alex decided that this song he was writing was a bit more personal than he originally thought. Since "JDV" Alex has tried time and time again to get back into the music scene but for different reasons he was not able to write anything that was meaningful to him and consequently never released anything that was "worth it", says Alex. The chorus of "A New Life" who is sang by Keren Morales (of Los Morales), talks about letting go of the past and starting a fresh new life with hope in God. "When we first started writing the song I didn't realize that this song was meant to minister to my life. I had no idea. We recorded the chorus a while back but never got to the verses until recently. I was going through a very dark period in my life and I had a lot of insecurities along with a bunch of questions about my future. My relationship with God was going down the drain fast and I was quickly forgetting the promises that God had given me. After many months I revisited this track and found that I was at a point in my life to put my total faith back in Christ. A new life is what I needed no matter what or who I was in the past. This song marks a new Alex Soler. I love the fact that the chorus is in Spanish because it shows my true roots and fan base. Keren Morales of Los Morales brought her smooth voice to this track which gave it a lot of soul. Although it's a very simple record, I believe that many will be able to identify with it and my hopes is that it speaks to people the way it did to me", mentioned Alex in a recent interview. Fans will truly appreciate this song for its upbeat style and meaningful lyrics.
