Beyond oil and beauty queens bonanza, beyond caos and political struggle, Caracas, Venezuela, is the stage that gave rise to Chucknorris. This project was born in souch an spontaneous way that they simply stole their name after an action film hero for no reason what so ever. In 2003 Mc. Breker (voice) and Carlos E. Reyes (voice / guitar / bass / electronics) got together to explore new ways of making music. They reframed what they had done in previous years, with his preceding bands like Danza Mécanica and Claroscuro respectively. They became a band being joined by the drummer Tomás Mena (Le Merm) and Dj Baffa (Sur Carabela). Their hybrid of electronic pop/rock resulted in a number of Gorillaz and Beck comparisons, where hip-hop, indie pop and samples can flow in a single song. “11 Cuentos”, its debut album in 2005, caught the attention of the Latin American audience with a Latin MTV Awards nomination. Its videos and singles top the charts. Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Mexico have experienced their energy when playing live. After several years of self promotion, Chucknorris began to write new material towards a direction that is more organic than electronic. By the end of the 2008, Dj Baffa leaves so the band contact their live sound engineer, Claudio Ramirez to play electronics, bass and guitar. Currently thier second album “Incandescente” is out.
