Emerging Philadelphia, Catullus is building a reputation up and down the East coast for their deep grooving and sweat inducing sets. Steeped in the improvisational tradition, each set carries with it the potential of 1,000 different paths forged only at the moment of inspiration. "A Maze in Life" captures their live sound and polishes it into the greatest representation of what the band does on stage. The album was recorded doing live takes and some tracks even being done in the first take with very little overdubbing. They wanted to showcase their songs in the studio ultimately to give the best product the song could be, but without completely taking away from what could be accomplished in the live setting.
