简介
Eric Sanders guides you through his world of passion and pain, and despair and hope. You are taken through the very fires of passion, and yet his music delivers you on the shore safely and strangely calm. His soothing clear voice remains constant when spinning tales of lost love. The guitar drives on in overwhelming crescendos one minute, and then warm calming rhythms the next. The sadness and yearning that so many are struggling with, seem to be captured in so many of his songs. While many have simple and strong pop sensibilities, like pop-lullabies broken up with driving guitar hooks. Others take you to a contemplative place where you can ponder the state of the world today, the powers that be, or the constant struggle between good and evil. Eric Sanders is a solo singer/songwriter/guitar player. His writing mainly takes place with an acoustic guitar, which helps to evoke the truest emotion of his songs. He is no stranger to the electric guitar which seriously starts cooking on songs like "Before We Get Cold" and "Art Bus". He was the frontman for the Denver-based band Fox Colfax until they disbanded in 2007. Eric treats each and every performance as if it were his biggest and most important show, whether it is a hole-in-the-wall coffee shop or a main-strip venue with all the lights. He has a team of musicians that include Eliza Bertolin on piano and vocals, and Adrienne Short on violin. His songs are sort of a darker acoustic folk, but not too heavy. Kind of like a Damien Rice mixed with The Doors. Eric got alot of his vocal influence from Jim Morrison, Scott Wyland, and Bradley Knowell. His guitar stylings are more from Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, and the grunge sound. Eric Sanders frequented many open mics and hosted others. While learning from and supporting other artists, his songwriting went from basement material to heartier stage standbys. He is known around the Mercury Cafe as a favorite performer. He has performed hundreds of times in Denver and the surrounding areas at places like the Paramount Cafe, Herman's Hideaway, and the Cricket on the Hill. He has written, and engineered three full length albums (Tokum Hokum Children - "self titled" [1997], "A Walk with Eric" [1998], Fox Colfax - "First Friday" to date and is currently working on his 2009 solo debut. He has performed with many artists like Melissa Ivey, Isaac Slade, Angie Stevens, and Gann Matthews. 2009 is expected to be a great year for Eric, so keep your eyes peeled for a show near you!
