简介
This album is a collection of many years work. Some songs were written years ago, others more recently. I have also included a few of my favorite public domain songs. Some special things to note: "Safe in His Arms" was written in honor of my good Christian friend Diana Mullins. A few weeks after I gifted her with this song, she had a bad fall and died. Diana was a gifted artist. The five beautiful wreaths she made for me hang on my door, changing with the seasons. I know she is in Heaven with Jesus, but I miss her. "It's All Good" was inspired by the Reverend Doug Glanton, whose ministry includes providing shelter for homeless men. "Well Done" was inspired by the Reverend Donald Hamilton who is now retired and in his 90's. He performed the marriage ceremony for me and my dear husband David on April 7th, 2001 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. "Do You Want Me" is a reflection of my own conversion experience. Listening to Linda Ronstadt sing "Long Long Time" on the radio in 1974, it was as if God was saying to me "I've done everything I know to try and make you mine. And I think I'm gonna love you for a long long time." It broke my heart. Soon after that experience, I gave my life to Christ. "Had We Known" is based on Matthew 25. I dedicate it to the Reverend Wendell Mettey, who has lived out this scripture. Visit www.Matthew25ministries.org for more information to see how you can help God's most needy people around the world. "Maybe I Don't love You" is based on John Chapter 21. Peter had denied Jesus three times. In John chapter 21, Jesus asks him: "Do you love me?" three times. The music track for "My Lord" was created by Mike McCoy. I added the bass and trumpets. Mike is a fellow musician and composer. We are friends from way back, both members of the Walnut Hills High School c/o 1967. "You are the One" and "Loving You" were originally written as love songs, but they can also be sung to Jesus...a love song to Him from the believer. I attempted to rewrite "Loving You" so that it could also be interpreted a third way: Jesus singing to the believer. I'm not sure I succeeded. Nevertheless, these songs are two of my all time favorite compositions, so I wanted to include them on this album. We sang "In the Sweet By and By" yesterday in church. I noticed the preacher's wife tearing up. So at the last minute, I recorded a short version and closed the album with it. I look forward to seeing my mother and many other loved ones on that beautiful shore one day. I hope you enjoy my songs. I hope some of them comfort you and that others push you closer to our Savior. May God always bless you.
