Recorded at the request of a friend for possible inclusion in a pilot for a TV series, this remake of the old Dave Dudley classic gets a driving, rockin’ update. Jeff recorded all of the instruments (with the exception of additional handclaps from his wife, Lorinda) in his home studio. A fuzz bass holds down the bottom end as the backing vocal harmonies harken back to some of those early 1960’s west coast, “cars and girls” songs by bands like the Beach Boys, Jan and Dean and the GTOs. It’s a fun song that picks up steam as it plows ahead and features two instrumental breaks with a twangy baritone guitar, for a slight Dwayne Eddy flavor.
