Maharold Peoples, Jr., also known as MP2, is one of the undiscovered treasures of Christian music. With many years in the gospel music industry that have produced a range of soul-stirring, groundbreaking collaborations, Maharold is excited to announce the launch of his solo music career. In music circles across the Northeast region – New York City, Washington, D.C., and northern Virginia – Maharold has established a solid reputation as an iconic, trailblazing and prolific songwriter, recording artist and choir director who has performed alongside such artists as Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Maurette Brown-Clark, Twinkie Clark, James Hall and Worship & Praise, Dr. Bobby Jones, Pastor Shirley Ceasar, Rev. John P. Kee & the New Life Community Choir, Donnie McClurkin, Dorothy Norwood, Dottie Peoples, Hezekiah Walker & the Love Fellowship Crusade, and the Rev. Timothy Wright & The Concert Choir, and many more. In 1987, Maharold recorded his first choir project, "In the Potter’s Hand", featuring the Worship & Praise Mass Choir, of New York City. He recorded several projects with the Worship & Praise Mass Choir, including, “We’re In This World", "I Don’t Want To Miss Heaven” and “Take Off The Mask” – all of which set the tone for many professional choirs in New York City. In 1996, Maharold assembled an ensemble of singers he dubbed, "Tribe of Praise", and presented them in their first foot-stomping CD in 2001 entitled "The Millennium Project", which included prayerful and soul-searching songs such as “He Loves Me", "Intimate With You” (featuring Ayana George) and "Issues of Life." Maharold and the Tribe of Praise, completed their sophomore project in 2006 titled, “Theory of Evolution.” Maharold's earlier choir music can be heard on the Music Choice Cable Network, weekly, across the country and can be purchased on iTunes and CDBaby.
