Sad Theory is a brazilian death metal band, founded in 1998. It released the albums "The Lady & the Torch" (Megahard - 2002) "A Madrigal of Sorrow" (Die Hard - 2004 ), "Biomechanical" (Die Hard - 2006) and "Descrítica Patológica" (Die Hard - 2008, released only in 2012, due to the hiatus that started that year). During this period, the band played several important gigs such as opening for Blaze Bailey, Nevermore, Vader, WASP, Krisiun among other brazilian bands. The band ended its activities in 2008 after divergences among members. In this hiatus, former members dedicated themselves to their respective careers as well as other musical projects. The band was known for its greater zeal for the lyrical content, ranging from poetry, literature, film and other art forms. The sound was gradually evolving and the arrangements, initially most intricate and Neoclassical, gave way to larger influences of extreme metal and The Gothenburg Sound, which flourished in Sweden in the mid-90s In 2013 Alysson Irala and Guga Rovel met to discuss songs that would be part of a new project, but soon turned out to be Sad Theory's fifth studio album, with the blessing of the ex-members. To help with the lyrics, the two invited Daniel Franco, a former student of Irala, band fan since 2004, which was also attending Funds House Studios to produce his musical project, Rotpeter. Daniel is a physician and imprinted part of his professional experience in the album's lyrics. Guga also contributed with lyrics for the first time. The result was "Vérmina Audioclastia Póstuma" (Independent - 2015), the first entirely conceptual album Sad Theory released, which through a scale used in Oncology (Karnofsky), describes the journey of an individual from his perfect health until the slow appearing of enfermity and the arrival of death. Soon after the release, Daniel Franco joined the band as a bass player. Now the band is back in studio recording the sixth work, and seeking to complete the line-up to be able to do gigs again. The release of the sixth album is scheduled for the second half of 2016. Sad Theory é uma banda curitibana de Death Metal, fundada em 1998. Nesse período, a banda fez diversos e importantes shows, como abertura para Blaze Bailey, Nevermore, Vader, WASP, Krisiun entre outras bandas nacionais. A banda encerrou as atividades em 2008, após divergências entre os membros. Nesse hiato, os ex-membros dedicaram-se às suas respectivas carreiras, bem como outros projetos musicais. A banda tinha como diferencial já nessa época um zelo maior pelo conteúdo lírico, contendo referências de literatura e outras formas de arte. O som foi aos poucos evoluindo e os arranjos, inicialmente mais intrincados e neoclássicos, foram dando lugar a maiores influências de Metal Extremo e do Gothenburg Sound, que floresceu na Suécia em meados dos anos 90 Em 2013 Alysson Irala e Guga Rovel reuniram-se para discutir canções do que a princípio seria um novo projeto, mas que logo acabou se tornando o quinto álbum de estúdio do Sad Theory, com a bênção dos membros anteriores. Para ajudar com letras, os dois convidaram Daniel Franco, um antigo aluno de Irala, fã da banda desde 2004, que estava frequentando também a Funds House Studios para produzir seu projeto musical, o Rotpeter. Daniel é médico e imprimiu parte de sua vivência profissional nas letras do álbum. Guga também contribuiu com letras pela primeira vez. O resultado foi "Vérmina Audioclastia Póstuma" (Independente - 2015), o primeiro álbum inteiramente conceitual do Sad Theory, que através de uma escala utilizada em Oncologia (Karnofsky) descreve a jornada de um indivíduo desde sua saúde perfeita até a lenta instalação da enfermidade e a chegada da morte. Logo após o lançamento do álbum Daniel Franco foi efetivado na banda como baixista. No presente momento, a banda já está novamente em estúdio gravando o sexto trabalho, e buscando completar o line-up para poder presentear os fãs com shows novamente. O lançamento do sexto álbum está previsto para o segundo semestre de 2016.
