At the time I was living in my van creating crystal beaded jewelry to sell and trade. My journeys led me to the most beautiful places in nature, the soundtrack was this enchanting music. When winter came, I flew to Hawaii and camped there. All the while singing in my head, “Wahe Guru, Wahe Guru, Aad Guray Nameh”. I had no idea what these songs meant, only that they soothed my soul. One Auspicious day while swimming in the depths of the indigo blue maui waters, I had a life-altering encounter with a humpback whale. She delivered the message that I should sing out loud, not just in my head! I thought, “ I have no singing voice” the response from this mighty being was as follows; “You Must Trust!” Thus began my life as a wandering minstrel! I set off to heal myself, and others with my songs from the sea! After circling the globe multiple times, I found myself at the feet of a Sat Guru/Enlightened Master. I was gifted a mantra to silently meditate upon and asked to write songs in English about the spiritual path. It was here I learned the songs that had been weaving through my mind all those years were Gurmukhi & Sanskrit chants. Chants singing praises to the one who guides us from darkness into light. Chants celebrating the teachers who awaken souls to the consciousness that God lives within every being!
