This song was written by Burundi refugee Eddie Niyonizigiye. Eddie and his family fled to Tanzania and lived in a refugee camp for 5 years in 1992. This was during the genocide in Rwanda and Burundi, which was a civil war more highly publicized in Rwanda but equally dangerous in Burundi. Eddie and his sister Leya are the soloists in this production along with the singers and musicians that make up the Amen Choir. The Choir is made up of people who were all refugees and have found their long path leading them to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Choir is the group that assists worship in the Good News to All Nations church in Cedar Rapids.
