简介
Gray Stream has deep musical roots and a deep love for the cowboy traditions. He knows first hand the power of a bull and the thrill of the ride. The way he sings "Bull Rider" makes you feel the emotion and the danger. His musical heritage includes his mother, Lynn Anderson; and his grandparents, Liz and Casey Anderson. Lynn Anderson is a country music legend and treasure who still enjoys performing for her fans. His cowboy heritage comes from his mother and both of his grandparents who love horses, rodeos, and all things western. Casey Anderson, his grandfather, was one of the original re-enactment riders of the Pony Express in 1960. His run was No. 483 West on July 28, 1960 - From Pacific House to Sportman's Hall in California - about 7 miles of Sierra Nevada Terrain. He was also a member of the "World Champion Drill Team" and "The Sacramento County Sheriff's Mounted Posse" from 1957 through 1966. Casey is a real North Dakota Cowboy - His parents started the Grand Forks, North Dakota, Saddle Club. His mother, Grace, was the North Dakota Parade Champion for many years. In addition to co-writing "The Ballad of the Pony Express" with his wife, Liz Anderson, Casey and Liz wrote Merle Haggard's first No. 1 Single, "The Fugitive" in 1967. Liz rode with the Sacramento County Ladies Mounted Patrol. They both were Deputy Sheriffs in Sacramento County, California. Their daughter, Lynn Anderson, in addition to winning many music awards, went on to become the California Horse Show Queen. Gray definitely came from a long line of musical and cowboy talent as well. This song is very special to Gray as his grandmother, Liz, wrote it. What a great song to take us inside the heart of a bull rider and give us a glimpse of what one must feel before a ride.
