Tired of every song that gets played in the mall all December, Chris Thompson began writing original Christmas music as gifts. Although the music is often cheery and full of that certain Christmas I-don't-know-what, the songs' inspiration is not watered down so several songs are about heartbreak, nihilism, and the death of a child.
