这首歌曲是我在伯克利音乐学院学习爵士作曲时创作的。当时课程要求我们写一首与自己家乡有关的音乐，而我想到了台湾的宗教和民间习俗，这些文化非常有趣。近几年对台湾的庙宇文化非常感兴趣。我使用了大醉八仙布袋戏的开头「瑶池金母法无边⋯⋯」以及其他一些庙宇声音的取样，希望能够真实地呈现出庙宇的氛围。大醉八仙是一个非常有趣的故事，八位神仙因为祝寿而豪饮作乐，并且因为他们的开心和平而带给了世间。 这首歌曲是为那些因为疫情而受到影响，以及那些为自己的健康担忧的人而创作的。在创作期间，经历了父亲罹癌的消息，看着身旁的家人的陪伴，在爸爸最后一哩路暸解到自己能够接触音乐的幸运是因为父母的支持，更因此深刻体会到健康为一切的基础。我希望每个人都能够保持身心灵的健康，因为只有这样，我们才能够去追求自己想要做的事情。 This song was composed during my study of jazz composition at the Berklee College of Music. At that time, the curriculum required us to write music related to our hometown, and I thought of the religious and folk customs in Taiwan, which were very interesting. In recent years, I have been very interested in Taiwan's temple culture. I used the opening of the Da Zui Ba Xian (8 drunken gods) puppet theater, "Yao Chi Jin Mu Fa Wu Bian...," and sampled other temple sounds, hoping to authentically capture the atmosphere of the temple. Da Zui Ba Xian is a very interesting story; eight immortals celebrate and make merry because of a birthday, bringing joy and peace to the world. This song is created for those affected by the pandemic and those who are concerned about their health. During the composition process, I received the news of my father's cancer, and witnessing the support of my family around me, I came to understand that my fortunate connection to music is due to my parents' support, and I deeply realized that health is the foundation of everything. I hope everyone can maintain physical, mental, and spiritual health, because only then can we pursue what we want to do.
