A lot of happy stories of adoption and love inspired this song. This song describes my relationship with our adopted/rescued German Shepherd, Lakota, and, I'm sure, how a lot of you feel about your "rescues". Coincidentally, I found out a year after Lakota's adoption that Kimberly, the girl who processed the intake into the shelter of the 8 week old pup with no name (Lakota) and his litter mates and did his physical exam when he was "discarded" by his original family, was an orphan in Korea. After Kimberly saw my video "I've Got a Feeling (The Animal Rescue Song)" on youtube; she shared with me how much it meant to her because, at 9 years old, her parents came to the orphanage in Korea and, instead of choosing to adopt a baby as most people do; they looked at her and KNEW: She was "the one"! And, so, they all went home together as a new family! When I met Lakota; I knew, too.
