"Best Artist of the Cultural Arts Festival" Sydney Australia, joti has performed with legends Joe Hunter of the Funk Brothers, Jeannie Tracy, and saxophonist extraordinaire Bobby Strickland at the Mill Valley Film Festival, Sydney Opera, Carnegie Hall, St. Louis Symphony Hall, Fox Studios Sydney, and is preparing a tour in Asia for 9 months 2006. During the rehearsal for a jazz concert at the Brava Theater, Bobby Strickland convinced joti to perform his own music. Bobby produced, "I Get So Caught Up" the title track of joti's solo debut album. Combine the high energy of Prince and Elton John, the flexibility of Steve Wonder and the edge of Sting add emotion, clarity, spirituality and you get joti. He brings accomplished musicians to his recording like bass guitarist, Uriah Duffy who recorded "Impossible" with Multi-Grammy winner Alicia Keys and Christina Aguilera, electric and acoustic guitarist Bob Castell-Blanch, and percussionist Mick Berry. Soon after he learned piano and would be seen dancing with his mother, Dorothy Milliner and d.j uncle, James Sharp at Haywood's night club. joti's unique abilities were dramatically influenced by his extensive childhood exposure to all kinds of music: Gospel, Jazz, Classical, World, Motown, Country, 80's Rock, R&B, Hip-Hop, and Blues. At the age of 17, joti moved to New York City to study pedagogy and literature of music, voice, piano, acting, and dance at American Musical and Dramatic Academy, STEPS, Broadway Dance Center, and Greenville College. As an honor student and winner of the NAACP and Danny Talent Scholarship, joti continued to refine his craft as a soloist, choir director, and recording artist. joti's has performed as an actor/singer/dancer in regional theaters, films, and television across the US. He has appeared on Good Morning Show, Breakfast at KRON 4, PBS, ABC, and HBO. He has brought awareness though benefit concerts for American Breast Association, Community Against Violence at San Francisco City Hall, Visual Aids, raised money for ARK (AIDS Resource for Kids), provided as well as developed a program tutoring and outreach to inner city children, and helped with the Christmas program for the Pediatric AIDS Unit in San Francisco.
