Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist? I grew up in the small town of Maysville, Kentucky where everyone knows everyone and their business. There is not a lot of opportunities there but I had to make the best of it. I was one of the first of my generation to really pursue music and be known for music. I decided to become a recording artist because music is in my blood, my mom, dad, and sister all can sing as well as a lot of my mom's sisters, my brother, a couple of my cousins and my uncle were in a rap group called "The Brew Crew" in the 90's and they inspired me a lot. Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?First of, learn to hear "no" and not give up. You're going to hear that a lot when you first start off from promoters and club owners simply because your name isn't popular. A lot of colleges have the budget to pay for artists to perform and usually they like to have new talent as well as college radio stations. I would start there. Get a hold of clubs that do open mic nights and live band nights, they usually will love to have new acts on their roster. Being persistent and consistent is the key mixed with perseverance. Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that? I've made a couple of mistakes before, who hasn't! We are all human and prone to human error a time or two. Although I cannot think of a time where I messed up really bad where the audience could tell. I may forget a few words here and there from distraction but most of the time the audience cannot tell. Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about? I haven't had the pleasure of touring yet. I have a long time friend "Fisty Cuffs" AKA Frank "Deucey" Banks who does music full time and tours A LOT. He has offered me a spot on 3 tours a couple years back but my circumstances wasn't right. But I'm getting my ducks in a row to where I will start touring soon! I have been to a lot of states as far as Florida doing shows and promoting, but now I'm ready to tour! Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now? I don't plan to upgrade my studio yet. I am well satisfied with my sound and quality. I have learned it's not always the equipment that makes the sound great, but rather the ears of who is mix and mastering the track. Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you? Social media is a HUGE help. This is the technology age and so everyone is using the internet in some form. Social media is probably the easiest way to reach the masses. I also love to communicate to fans personally by word of mouth or video chats, or phone calls. Fans want to create experiences with you, and they want material that will help them relive those experience over and over. I love my fans! Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why? I would love to perform anywhere with 2Pac and Michael Jackson! They were both the best at what they did not only musically but mentally for their fans. Their influence was major. 2pac had the speech that would inspire you to rise up and Michael made music seem like magic, especially his performances. Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing? I couldn't imagine not making music. But I would say I would be in service to people in some form. I love to help my fellow man and serve the Most High YAH. It just so happens I do it through music now.
