On April 20th 2012, activist and speaker Wayne Walton attended a Wandering Monks show in Denver and personally asked us to create a concept album to help him spread the word about Mountain Hours. MtnHours is a local, organic currency that's circulating in Summit County, Colorado. Wandering Monks understand that the current Federal Reserve monetary system we operate under in the U.S. is a massive game of musical chairs - not enough money exists to pay off all the debt, so bankruptcies and foreclosures are 100% guaranteed. Conversely, localized currency benefits the people by increasing the local money supply and keeping money in the community instead of routing it to a central bank in New York or offshore. Convinced by Wayne's enthusiasm for simply making the monopolized Federal Reserve system irrelevant, by way of opting out to "starve the beast," we took on the project and explored the topic of monetary freedom. The result is Jubilee - a musical journey which we feel people can enjoy whether or not they consider the issue of Usury. Wandering Monks believe that MtnHours is a hugely important experiment - one that will help the world advance toward a more sane and sustainable way of living. Abolish Usury; give Abundance a chance.
