简介
Days of the Last Crusade, as the title implies, is a collection of protest songs (anthems) and ballads, some with a folk or country flavor like "Why" with a steel guitar and stunning mandolin by a great musician who you'll know if you buy the hard copy of the CD. The title track is introduced with my bouzouki before opening with a few explicative lyrics. "Just For Fun" is a bluesy piece with some lyrics seemingly written about a bar that progresses down hill from there - very cool poetif lyrics according to most. There's also "Less Than Living for Today", another favorite with a reverse electric guitarlead reminscent of the clips from the Beatles Revolver album and sprinkles of strings,, that asks "will we be forgiven for thinking less than living for today?" And there's "Remember Me" with beautiful piano and dobro lead and heart felt lyrics. It's a memorial song born of 9/11. Then there's "Lara", my favorite, with its smoky European dreamscape, its "life in a life" lyrics and a melodic string quartet woll make you think of George Martin It's dedicated to the real Lara who designed the stunning cover art and added her own photographs for Days of the Last Crusade. I suppose all my songs are poetry in motion and in my humble opinion, I think the music is damned fine too. There are many superb guest musicians on this CD, all of whom have my deepest thanks and respect for helping me get this project done. You'll enjoy their performances but you have to buy the CD or the downloads to hear them all.
