简介
Singer/songwriter Yasmin Tayeby spent the first 18 years of her life in Egypt. During this time, she discovered her passion for music. What started off as just learning the piano, soon became voice, violin, and guitar as well. By the age of 13, Yasmin was already writing her first few songs for voice and guitar. In her middle and high school years, Yasmin attended numerous international music festivals, and received a number of awards for all of the afore mentioned instruments. By 2006, Yasmin had been accepted to the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, and began her college career. Since attending, Yasmin has seen success in many forms. In her freshman year, she was invited to play for the Vermont congressman, Peter Welch's birthday party, where she performed Pink's "Dear Mr. President." She earned rave reviews, and a personal invitation from the congressman to play any of his future events. She also found minor recognition in her hometown of Cairo, where Nile FM, Egypt's biggest radio station, showcased her song 'Jane and John Doe' for 2 months as a Homegrown Talent. A few months later, she was invited by the station to play at the closing ceremony of the world famous Pharaoh's Rally, which was to take place at the Pyramids of Giza. Most recently, Grammy award winning producers Will Ackerman and Corin Nelsen have opted to produce Yasmin's first EP. The record will consist of Yasmin on vocals and piano, the world famous bassist T Bone Wolk (best known for work with Carly Simon and Hall and Oates) on bass and guitar, and the prestigious Jeff Haynes (known for work with Cassandra Wilson) on percussion.
