Born in Raleigh, NC, he has produced for and/or featured lyricism with the likes of Count Bass D, Kurupt of the Dogg Pound, Cunninlyguists, D.R.U.G.S. Beats, Kam Moye (Supastition), J-Live and more. As lead producer and co-emcee of the duo Clan Destined, formed in 2003, the group rose to the forefront of their music scene, gaining a number one single on Rap Attack/Rap Network charts (“Plan B”, 2007) and became a part of the Rawkus 50 campaign. Their LP, “Self Titled” was given a 5/5 rating in Creative Loafing (2011) and in 2012, they were awarded Georgia’s Best Hip Hop Group by the Georgia Music Awards. Now as a soloist, Yamin fuses his Hiphop background into soulful expressions of song, utilizing wordplay and harmony over his layered production style. His latest outing paired him with producer Illastrate in the form of the group Monday/Friday, serving as the vocalist with a pair of turntables at his disposal as well. A budding keyboardist, he also teaches production and deejaying at the Atlanta branch of the Scratch Academy in addition to performing around the map.
