Her two current artistic efforts, Paulina Cameron + The Cave and Batcave, overlap in genre and substance. Cinematic, groovy and poetic, the work of both projects is the pursuit of authenticity. Paulina Cameron + The Cave are currently polishing and promoting a collection of nine singles, scheduled for release starting in December 2016. The series marries throwback nostalgia with contemporary dislocation, with influences ranging from Jeff Buckley and Bill Withers to John Mayer and Radiohead. Tested on audiences throughout the LA and San Diego areas over the course of 2016, the release will be supported by digital promotion to a mailing list 1,000+ strong and digital placement on Spotify, iTunes and all major music distribution platforms. The band, The Cave, which formed at the Thornton School of Music in 2014, is also gearing up for ongoing local performances in support of the releases. Paulina is also one-half of the songwriting duo Batcave, a collaboration with Becca Marlee. Influenced by Hiatus Kaiyote, Elliott Smith, Joni Mitchell and The Beatles. Batcave is currently working on self-producing new releases. Paulina graduated from the University of Southern California, Thornton School of Music with a Bachelor of Music in Popular Music (’16), after declining scholarships to attend Berklee College of Music and (a lover of art) the Pratt School of Design in New York. As a student, Paulina studied directly under Patrice Rushen, Chris Sampson, David Arnay, and Jeffrey Allen, among many others. Her first LP, the solo effort “Persistence of Memory”, was released in 2013 and is available through all major online music stores and streaming services.
