简介
Wilful Damage are a hard-edged rock act from the Mornington Peninsula, south of Melbourne, Australia, who also incorporate elements of country, folk, and blues. The band consists of singer/songwriter/guitarist Jason Lowe, lead guitarist/multi-instrumentalist/producer Simon Hart, and bass player David Gibson. The songwriting partnership of Lowe and Hart, who met at art school, has existed for years as a rock recording duo, and has produced three albums worth of material. The second album, “Counting The Cost” received regular airplay on local radio station 3RPP, with the station dedicating a three hour special to the duo, including an extensive interview. The song “Crossroads Again”, from the “Raw Roots Rock” album, was also aired on the station, and their cover of Warrant’s “Cherry Pie” was played on another community radio station. When Lowe and Hart decided to form a live band to perform the new rootsier songs they had been recording, along with older songs and covers in the same vein, they contacted their old friend Gibson, who had played with them regularly at the beginning of their partnership. After a successful performance at The Chandelier Room, and some live recordings, the band filmed a video for “Crossroads Again” (which can be viewed on youtube), after which the live act was stripped down to a duo, consisting of Lowe and Gibson, who also began contributing backing vocals. The duo continues to perform live, expanding their repertoire, and getting together with Hart to record new material. The new song “Own Sweet Time”, a punchy rocker, is another Lowe/Hart original, and the first Wilful Damage studio recording to feature the bass playing of Gibson.
