Native Ohioan turned Seattle transplant, Holly started playing guitar in July of 1999 when, during her first east coast tour, her guitar player broke his hip before the first show on the tour. Holly took his guitar, learned three chords, and finished her tour, finding that it was a blessing in disguise that her good friend was in excruciating pain. In her first year on the acoustic music circuit, Holly was wowing national audiences at listening rooms from the Bitter End and Living Room in NYC, to Club Passim in Boston, to the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in 2000, to the Tractor Tavern and Summer Nights at the Pier in Seattle. She has toured extensively throughout the US, greeting fans everywhere with her refreshing style of hybrid folk and blues, usually with her young children in tow. Dream in Red is Holly's second record, and was produced by Evan Brubaker, and graced by musicians Dan Tyack (Bill Frisell/Danny Barnes), Keith Lowe (Fiona Apple/Duffy Bishop), Jonathan Kingham, Sean Halley, and Kym Tuvim.
