Justin Boatman, from Eupora, Mississippi, is Fighting Okra Records’ featured artist for 2013-2014. Justin performs solo as a singer-songwriter and enjoys performing in bands with friends. During second grade, Justin started taking piano lessons from his grandmother, who would become one of his primary influences and inspirations. His entire family has always provided motivational support. Justin later learned to play euphonium at Eupora High School and attended the Mississippi State University State Band Camp. He has also been playing guitar since then. Boatman put together band arrangements for his high school homecoming. Additionally, he has performed with the Josh Buford Band at the Audio Summer Festival.

Justin’s influences include John Mayer, Keith Urban and Stanfield. His songs have been described as ‘wholesome American songs.’ As a career, he aspires to work in several different fields in the music industry.
