Daniel Rafn is a Portland, Ore. singer and producer, working within a pop sensibility. While using experimentalism, and eyeing the sonics of top rap artists, he is also influenced by sacred music's tension and narrative flow. There are beats, lush arrangements, and there are honest vocals. There is less adherence to the use of choruses than in traditional pop - more often, structures evolve rather than repeat.

Evidenced by two of his recent releases - cover EPs of Drake as well as Arthur Russell, Rafn is comfortable blending seemingly very disparate influences when it comes to his own material, and this allows contrasting sides of his personality to co-exist in the resulting work: braggadocio and introversion, angst and fantasy, or simply two other names that round out the forces effecting him, Kendrick and Kate.
