Joaquin Gallegos has been playing the guitar since he was a child. His early training included Jazz, Rock, Ensemble Improvisation and Composition. Having studied flamenco in Spain under such maestros as El Viejin, Anton JImenez, and Manolo Sanlucar, Joaquin fused hisearly musical training with the flamenco tradition in a unique way to create a style that stays true to the flamenco art form but has something new to say. A sought after accompanist for the flamenco cante and baile but also a renowned solo artist and collaborator with many artists in many styles, Joaquin is an up and coming artist that is commanding attention on an international scale.

'Nuevos Comienzos' is Joaquin's second album. Two years in the making, Joaquin's guitar playing drives the album while strong ensemble collaborations from top flamenco artists contribute to make it a well rounded work. Six flamenco singers, piano, violins, arabic ud, percussion, palmas (hand claps), dancers' footwork, bass and trumpet add their flavors to the mix. Joaquin's mature compositions show a strong sense of melody while the arrangements have the listener wondering what turn they will take next. A complex and adventurous musical journey, 'Nuevos Comienzos' is an album that requires several listenings to begin to unravel the many layers it presents to the listener.
