In 2008, Karema began recording songs for Restoring The City The Album. Karema’s 1st studio album and other business ventures would come to a null in 2009 when her mother Evangelist Sheila LeShawn Jenkins passed away at age 44 due to illnesses that she had battled for 2 years. Within 9 months, Karema lost her mother and both grandmothers. The loss of 3 most influential women in Karema’s life took her into a depressed state of mind, a broken spirit, and a whirlwind of unanswered questions.  Thanks to God, family, church and friends, Karema was able to deal with the most devastating point in her life. She found that in times of crisis, God is a promise keeper. As Karema began to deepen her relationship with Christ, He began to reveal His purpose for her. She now realizes that in total obedience to God, one can be used to save lives! Karema believes that through her music she will bear much fruit that it will remain.
