简介
Beat-boxing sparked his interest in music not long after moving to Miami, FL from Caracas, Venezuela at the age of 7. Eduardo “Gualo” Jaramillo learned the skill and carried this talent through the years until he picked up the guitar, piano and drums in high school. As his passion for music increased, his interest for music production did too, causing him to sell candy in school to raise money for some home recording gear that would sit and work out of his walk-in closet. Writing songs, making beats and recording other local talent became less of a hobby and more of a career path. Along the way, Gualo began playing in showcases around town with other locals, writing songs and recording them with the goal of gaining experience and finding his identity in music. At about 19, Gualo crossed path with Latin-GRAMMY Nominee and multi award winning musician/artist Jose Valentino, who took him under his wing and mentored him for several years. This mentorship extended to opportunities like touring, teaching workshops across seas, playing music festivals, recording and performing with other multi-award winning musicians, allowing Gualo reach goals like winning Downbeat Music Awards (2013 and 2014) as engineer and musician, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Audio Production (2014) and becoming a Latin-GRAMMY Nominated engineer (2015). Towards the end of college, Gualo decided to apply every one of his respectable musical abilities (producing, songwriting, beat-boxing, playing multiple instruments and engineering) into one single project. Contagious grooves and funky bass lines. Swinging guitars and expressive blues solos. A formulated blend of uncommon beatboxing with live drums and percussion. A humorous yet deep, bold and blunt message delivered by aggressive yet intimate and rhythmic vocals. The organic energy of live horns, brass and woodwinds, complemented by the inevitable touch of live strings. These are but a few elements that compose Gualo's uncategorized debut production and creative endeavor, "The Other Side Of Love Songs". After independently showcasing his music as a solo act, with his trio or full band locally (The Stage [Midtown], Baru-Brickell, Baru-Doral, Centro Cultural Español [Downtown]) and non-locally (Atlanta, Tifton, Valdosta [GA], Tampa, Clearwater [FL], Kenly [NC], Los Angeles, Anaheim [CA], Bogota, Madrid [Colombia]), Gualo’s vision falls nothing short of growing, expanding and using the gift of music to inspire and impact the people like never before in his up-coming North American tour in 2017.
