While listening to the radio one day, producers Greg Mailloux and Peter Palazzolo heard a lively pop tune that they thought would sound great with the words of the old Christmas carol instead. With a little work they made the melody of "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" fit the mold. Adding the amazing voice of Jen Young was a natural thing to do.
