CHASE MICHAELS Chase Michaels is a singer, songwriter, and musician from the San Francisco Bay Area. Chase began playing the piano at an early age of five. His Father an accomplished jazz Pianist who had grown up with several Jazz legends such as Stan Getz and others would record downtown Oakland. His Fathers old record albums and his Piano Playing influenced Chase. At the age of six Chase's father purchased a guitar. Chase taught himself to play many chords in a few weeks leaving the piano behind to focus on his new love for the guitar. By the age of ten Chase had begun to perform at Church and at various places, Pizza Parlors etc. Chase began to develop his skills with his music teacher "John Massy" an accomplished flat pick Guitarist. Music theory became a very valuable tool as Chase began to write music. Chase would eventually develop his own style of writing with his main influences from his favorite songwriter artist (Neil Young) "harvest" CD. Chase understood music at a different level then most kids his age he knew good songwriting and good lyrics were most important then just having a good sound. Chase grew to be inspired by "Neil Young’s" heart felt lyrics that would tell a story from the soul and leave you relating to his personal emotions. Chase's personality and charm lead him on a path to meet other songwriters and artist and through these relationships inspired him to realize that writing his own music would full fill his love and passion for music. As time went on Chase developed his own style of flat picking style and started to evolve into an amazing songwriter. As a young teen Chase met many interesting people in and involved in the music business. He would be told many times that he should develop his writing skills and that he would someday be an accomplished songwriter and performer. Chase’s ambitions in life were somewhat different and he would casually pick up his guitar not thinking anything significant would come. Chase’s wasn’t interested in actually doing much more then performing for himself and friends. As time went on things began to change. People who took notice of Chase’s writing abilities and performances felt that Chase should take everything more seriously and get his music out in front of the world. Amazingly enough this happened for Chase on it’s own. Some say being in the right place at the right time, or knowning the right people, well without any help, Chase would stumble across meeting the right people at the right time. The key people needed came into Chase’s life. From Nashville to San Francisco, it was a continuation of instrumental people taking notice of Chase as a Songwriter Performer that would bring Chase where he is today!
