Folk Ragoût performs folk music from around the world. While maintaining a traditional sound, they also experiment with extended instrumental techniques. The duo was formed when Frédéric and Leslie spent a year studying Irish traditional music at the University of Limerick. They also perform and record with New Time Ensemble, an acoustic folk quartet comprised of fiddle, flute, cello, and guitar. Folk Ragoût's début album was recorded in Spring 2011 by Brian O'Reilly of Studio Fiona in Fermoy, Co. Cork, and features traditional and modern tunes from Ireland, Brittany, Scotland, Quebec, the US and Latin America.

Leslie Anne Harrison was raised in the beautiful state of Maine in the northeastern United States. She holds her Master of Music degree in classical flute from New York University. While living in New York, she discovered its vibrant folk music scene and started to play wooden flute. Leslie then moved to Ireland where she spent two years studying Irish traditional music and flute. In parallel to her growing agenda as a performer, she is also a very busy teacher, tutoring in both classical and traditional genres across the atlantic.

Frédéric Pouille grew up in an artistic family in France: his mother plays piano and was a theater actress while his father plays guitar and toured with several Flamenco dance companies. Frédéric’s mother taught him classical piano at a very young age and he also picked up guitar as a teenager with the help of his dad. He is now a specialist of modern finger-picking guitar and his innovative accompaniments draw from jazz, folk, traditional, and world music. In addition to being a talented musician, Frédéric holds a PhD in Neuroscience.
