In honor of graduating seniors and all those ending the school year, Minneapolis rapper Reverse Mechanic has teamed up with famous New York battle rapper Soul Khan on a new, scholarly rap song titled “Rhodes Scholars.” The song is described as “brainy rap” and aspires to elevate the intellectual standards for rap artists, as outlined in the lyric, “I write with a straightedge, so every line is perfect. I’m a fervent insurgent in search of words with a purpose, and I’m not a perfect person, but I’m purgin’ the current trends in hip hop like slipshod lyrics and perversion. ” The song comes as part of a 15-month project of continuous content called The Mixed Ape, in which Reverse has been releasing new content every month. Along with celebrating all of our graduating scholars, the new music video is sure to represent for Minnesota with local actors and videography team and a local Minneapolis barbershop as the set.
