简介

We wanted to draw your attention to the second album release from Danniel Oickle, a vibrant Canadian visual and performance artist. Born at the dawn of the 80s, into the glitz and glamour of the time, Danniel has a unique feeling for music. Armed with his creativity and unmistakable powerhouse vocals, this album is a culmination of sensual beats, thought provoking lyrics, and intense performances highlighting the theatrical style of Danniel’s music. Running right on the heals of his debut album, “Poison Apples & Other Delicacies” (2011), Danniel has picked up right where he left off. In addition to his solo work, he also performs duets with two Ukrainian-Canadian recording artists (C.C. Trubiak & Olexandra Pruchnicky) to bring fresh inspiration to his sophomore effort. Having published a book of poetry, "Dancing in Silence" (2010), and having had his visual arts shown at Ottawa City Hall, the CNE Toronto, Offices of the Supreme Court of Canada, NATO Belgium, among others, Danniel has embraced music with the same passion and panache he has brought to the rest of his work. "The Corruption of Flesh" will wind its way through the mountainous themes of "Sexuality vs. Religion" and "Love vs. Hate." Throughout history, there have been many representations of God and the Devil. One such representation has been around for more than 4000 years across the Eastern world, and represents the God of sexuality and nature. Though he goes by many names, one most notable is Pan. Represented as half man & half goat, he has been referred to as a faun, which is why nature still holds his name (fauna). As with most religions as they fall out of practice, the previous Gods are knocked from their realms and cast out. Pan was stripped of his divinity and made the enemy. He became the recognized visual for the Christian Devil, his worship was called satanic, and his love of sex and nature were bastardized. In "The Corruption of Flesh" we will delve into the world where sexuality and religion (Love & Hate) collide, and nature in all its forms is held above. It is an ancient war between who we are and who we tell ourselves we should be. Unabashedly driving full force into the the religious and psycho-sexual themes surrounding the fall of man to sexual defiance, has garnering his work the reputation of being "électro-poétique" and "lyrically complex." Notorious for having the "ability to deeply affect an audience's emotions," this album definitely "provides an amazing new sound" to the electro-pop and dance genres. - J.
