The debut album "Chris Mitchell" on Xcaliber Unlimited was never officially released. Though the pool of talent gathered to record the project was top notch by Nashville standards, creative differences and an exhausted budget left much of the project poorly mixed, and largely incomplete. Even though the entire project was mastered by Wolf Mastering in Nashville, TN, Mitchell himself considers most of these tracks demos. A handful of tracks like "Get Up & Dance", "Freak", "The Real Thing", "Keep It Coming" & "Wild N' Crazy Heart" were sonically worthy of release in 1999 when the album was recorded and did manage to capture Mitchell's sense of humor, energy, and range as a vocalist and producer.
