简介
Music is a healing balm to the soul. There is no doubt about it! Imagine the sound of tapping feet, snapping fingers, clapping hands and the joy of jumping, waving, twirling, worshipping and allowing the beauty of the sound of instruments, harmonies and melodies to wash over you like a wave as you sway to the beat, cry or laugh and experience the joy of hope. It crosses cultural, racial, language, denominational, and geographical barriers and exudes healing and comfort. I believe that it is one of the greatest ministry tools. Many who are reluctant to be a part of the church experience are eagerly willing to listen to music that soothes the soul and revives the spirit. Music has been an integral part of Shenneth's entire life: whether it was vowing in high school that she would be a professional singer, singing with her brothers and sister, doing background studio work for other artists, hanging out in her father's studio, tireless group practices conducted by her mother, or worshipping at home with her husband and children; this foundation was the inspiration that led her right back to a life of worship and ministry in song. She is an island girl that chooses to have Christ as the center of her life. He is the reason that she still stands with feet planted firmly on the ground. Six years ago, she had the wind knocked out of her sails when she lost her husband, David in Iraq. His death has shaped her life far more than any single event since the day she was born, but God's GRACE has been sufficient for her. When she is tempted to question Him, his Word reminds her in Romans 11:33-36 that He is a wonderful God and His riches and wisdom and knowledge are so great that it is impossible to understand His decisions and his methods or even know what He is thinking. She knows that everything comes from Him and everything exists by His power and is intended for His glory. She can't tell you that there won't be days when she won't get up willing the last six years to be a mere dream but what she can tell you is that in spite of tragedy, she is committed to rise above the ashes because the wind may have been knocked out of her sails but God has begun to breathe HIS breath back into them. It has been a journey filled with incredible highs and lows, but she and her family have discovered strength they did not realize they had. "You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only option left." - Author Unknown Shenneth has released two CDs; "I Praise His Name" in 2002, "Stand and Live" in 2007, and a Single - "Still Here (Stronger) June 20, 2013. She resides in the U.S. Virgin Islands and is in full-time music ministry.
